Free improvisation
As the years go by an artist acquires experiences and stylistic influences of all kinds. S/he may become interested in the music of other cultures and develop new instrumental techniques. All of this constitutes a unique combination in each case, and this is the reason why it is so interesting that artists fuse with others in free improvisation, without pre-established rules, and in which the most important thing is to listen and react. According to who the individuals are, the result can be completely different. Consequently this kind of improvisation is for me a way of getting to know my colleagues through sound, the word and body movement.
"Duo Mabad-Hewins" from FÁBRICA DE SONIDO DE MÁLAGA

This proposal around Ambient Music and Free Improvisation is made up of clarinetist Santi Mabad and guitarist Mark Hewins. From a wide variety of clarinets such as the Soprano, Bass or Contrabass and, guitars such as Acoustic, Harmonique or Digital, among others, this duo fuses both styles adding to the Ambient the condition of Acoustic, a greater improvisational character and a relief of the sound atmosphere above other musical parameters such as structure or rhythm.
From the combination of these individual styles and languages, a sound experience emerges on each occasion that can and should be different. For this, the concert space, whenever possible in places with natural acoustics, is considered a living being musically speaking since it will be deeply sensitive in what it will sound and will interact with the musical performers and also with the public.
The duo formed by Santi Mabad and Mark Hewins has performed in recent years in Málaga concert cycles such as the Free Improvisation Cycle of La Polivalente in Málaga or that of the Tr3s Puertas de Torre del Mar Association. The result of this work is their last album "The Well" recorded in the Moorish cistern of the Iglesia Santa María La Mayor in Vélez-Málaga, which has been very well received by the public.

Fábrica de Sonido de Málaga is a newly emerging group that aims to boost musical and artistic activity in Málaga by interacting with other disciplines to enrich the cultural life of the city. Formed by a large group of expert musicians, its operation is flexible and it intends to show different instrumental combinations according to their possibilities, since some of its members sometimes live between Malaga and other European countries. This concert proposal around Free Musical Improvisation is made up of some of the most outstanding sound artists and performers on the new music scene in Spain. Influenced by a very eclectic combination of styles such as contemporary music, avangarde jazz, British jazz, Canterbury Scene, abstract language or soundtrack composition, among others, they use a wide variety of instruments. These musicians with extensive and proven experience in various artistic fields, including visual arts, dance and performance, have worked with some of the most influential international artists and their works have been performed and have participated in important festivals.
"COL.LECTIU D'IMPROVISACIÓ MUSICAL DE CASTELLÓ" CIM.CS
The Col lectiu d'Improvisació Musical de Castelló is a group of musical creators from our regions interested in free improvisation as a vehicle of expression. It is not a fixed or closed group, and this means that they are in a position to offer diverse formations depending on the availability of their members and the characteristics of the musical intervention ("performance / concert") to be carried out. Established in 2019 moved by curiosity and the desire to explore new soundscapes, the musicians that make up CIM.CS come from diverse musical backgrounds.
